Those who attended the Moz Bursary kickoff luncheon learned why fellow UUCV members support this project located more than 8,000 miles around the globe. Cindy Good testified that she and Paula support UUCV’s premiere international social justice project on the basis of Nelson Mandela’s statement that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Bev Motich supports the Mozambique Bursary project because we have seem that a small donation can make a huge impact on the quality of girls’ lives, which they give back to others when they become adults. Bev plans to ask family members to donate to the project in lieu of Christmas gifts. Susan Vernon’s teaching experience underscores the lifelong value an education provides, which can never be taken away.
