Compassion and Caring Circle
The mission of the Compassion and Caring Committee (CCC) is to provide short-term relief and direct hands-on assistance to UUCV members and friends in times of crisis and need for support. The work of the CCC includes: providing support and relief to caregivers, arranging for transportation for medical appointments and church services, delivering meals on a short term basis, assisting with personal needs, coordinating with our minister and other services, working with families and the minister for memorial service receptions, providing limited medical equipment for loan, sponsoring a Mastermind support group, visiting and sending notes of care to shut-ins and those in the hospital. As we care for each other, we grow and develop as a community that is grounded in the wisdom of our UU tradition. Our lives are transformed by our caring practice.
We consider helping and supporting each other to be our unique contributions to UUCV, as well as of any healthy family and community. Our second principle promotes “justice, equity, and compassion in human relations.” How could we do otherwise than to provide help and assistance to our members in need?
The strengths of CCC are based on the efforts of our committee and the willingness of congregational members and friends to keep the minister and the CCC informed of any need for supportive services. Although the CCC is a central contact point for support services, we believe that all of our committees and our Board of Trustees are contact points for our members and friends.
The Congregation’s support of CCC is reflected in the volunteer efforts of our congregation’s members and friends. We all need to do our part in caring for each other. If you are interested in more information, please check the UUCV website, contact Reverend Aija, or email email@example.com .
UUCV is an important community, both to its congregation and to the region. To maintain our viability, we rely upon the generosity of our members and friends. Please continue to offer your time, talents, and treasure in support of the church and its work.
