Our music director leads our worship three Sundays per month, but we also enjoy the gifts of some of our area’s other fine musicians:
Dani Fiore is a multi-instrumentalist with a passion for drums and percussion. She loves to discover new ways of bringing people together by performing and teaching others how to express themselves through music. After becoming a certified Drum Circle Facilitator in 2015, Dani created “Life in Rhythm,” a set of programs and workshops focused on group music making. (This includes the First Mondays Drum Circle at UUCV)! She continues to study Drum Circle Leadership through training programs with Jim Donovan, M.Ed.
Most of her time behind the drums is spent performing with Indian Summer Jars, a central PA based alternative folk band, and with other acts like local R&B phenomenon, Shawan and the Wonton. Dani also lends her percussive talents to Open Stage of Harrisburg and other local musical theatre productions.
Outside of music, Dani is an “aspiring 46er” in progress of summiting all 46 high peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. She loves to cook, garden, snowboard, and ride bike just about everywhere. She lives in Wellsville with her wife, Sarah Beth, and two orange cats.
Dani is UUCV’s resident percussionist, and contributes to worship approximately twice monthly, especially on Sundays when the Choir sings.
Carole teaches for the music departments of both Harrisburg Area Community College and York College of Pennsylvania. She is the Founder and Coordinator for the HACC music industry associate program.
Carole completed a musical performance degree from University of West Virginia and specialized in music theatre direction as a coach and accompanist. Carole made her living as a hotel background pianist for 12 years for Hotel Hershey, Sheraton and Radisson Hotel chains. As a professor for both York College of Pa and Harrisburg Area Community College Music Departments, Carole has numerous contacts with gifted singers, and instrumentalists to add additional instrumentalists for your special event. She enjoys coordinating musicians as well for your charity event. Carole also works as a special topic speaker and pianist for Celebrity and Princess Cruise Lines.
Sarah Fiore is the lead singer, guitarist, and award-winning songwriter for Indian Summer Jars, an alternative folk band based in central PA. Her soul-stirring lyrics are filled with images of nature, spiritual wonder, and uplifting ideas of universal togetherness. Her work has been featured by organizations including The Susquehanna Folk Music Society, Philadelphia Songwriters Project, and 30A Songwriter Festival. Sarah has proudly released multiple full length albums with “ISJ” and continues to write and perform with no end in sight!
An outdoor enthusiast, Sarah has lead volunteer trips with the Sierra Club, working with national parks to rebuild and maintain hiking trails in Wyoming, Washington, California, and British Columbia. She also brings her passion for nature and horticulture to life in her career as a landscaper and landscape designer.
